Case Study
111 Cannon Street
2018
– Project Description
111 Cannon Street is a new-build 2000 square metre office and retail building situated in the City of London.
Our Involvement
Clement Acoustics were appointed by Bennett Construction in 2016, in partnership with ERS Consultants Ltd to provide acoustic assessments to ensure all available acoustics-related BREEAM credits could be targeted and awarded.
This included providing glazing and ventilation assessments, sound insulation design reviews and consideration of reverberation times within sensitive spaces for Hea 05 credits, and an assessment of atmospheric plant noise emissions for the Pol 05 credit.
A particular challenge on this project was ensuring the flanking performance of the external façade curtain walling system could support the required sound insulation performance of internal separating elements. We undertook a detailed review of the curtain walling manufacturer’s literature, and made recommendations to the design team to ensure the requirements were met.
We provided detailed advice through the design and construction periods, and commissioning tests on completion, ensuring all available credits were achieved.
