Air Source Heat Pumps

Heat pumps are an alternative source of heating to gas powered boilers.

The government is providing grants for people to switch from gas boilers to heat pumps. The main aim of this is to reduce emissions of gases such as carbon dioxide, as they contribute to climate change.

It is anticipated that in the coming years, the majority of homes could have heat pumps. Click here to find out more.

BS 8233 Residential Noise Survey & Assessment

When a new noise sensitive development (e.g., a residential dwelling) is introduced to an area, either by means of a newly constructed building or the redevelopment of an existing building, a Residential Noise Survey could be required as part of the planning application. The purpose of this is to assess the impact of existing noise sources on the occupants of the proposed building and where necessary propose mitigation measures in the form of glazing and ventilation. Entertainment and Sports Noise

There are many noise implications with regards to entertainment and sports. Whether this be the need for a planning or licence application, or issues associated with residential complaints and noise abatement orders. Clement Acoustics is vastly experienced in both providing support with planning/license applications and the design of mitigation measures to reduce noise impact to acceptable levels.

Construction Noise, Vibration and Dust Monitoring

Noise, vibration and particulate matter (dust) impact can be a serious concern for any site that is in close proximity to sensitive receivers as it may result in complaint from the receivers or action from the Local Authority. Monitoring these environmental parameters can help identify, control and reduce emissions, and therefore avoid complaint. Click here to find out more.

Section 61 Applications

Section 61, sometimes referred to as S61, is part of the Control of Pollution Act 1974. A Section 61 application is applied for to the Local Authority when noise, vibration or dust pollution during demolition and construction works could have a significant impact on the neighbourhood. A Section 61 application outlines the contractor’s approach to minimising these impacts. Click here to find out more.
